The Covid-19 badly strike our globe, and as of March 30, 2020, the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) had been confirmed in around 199 countries or territories. The virus had infected 693,282 people worldwide, and the number of deaths had totaled between 33,106 as of March 30, 2020. The only way to control Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is to maintain social distancing/quarantine as per the Health Specialists.
In this pandemic situation, Governments of many countries are showing full support to their public by waving off the mortgages, providing free food at door step, offering allownces to the jobless and providing free medical supplies.
Unfortunately, there are many under developing countries also survive on this globe with high poverty rates. Their Government is unable to facilitate them, their poverty rate is higher then 40%. Almost half of their citizens are forced to expose themselves to this chronic desease on daily basis to earn money for fulfilling their daily food requirements. Earning for their bread and butter daily they not only put themselves on health risk but also effect the people around them. Majority of them stands on roadsides looking for work opportunities as they are labours, if they stop their work for one day their family including old members and children will starve for that day. They can not follow the instructions of social distancing.
Project Barka’s team took an initiative of distributing dry groceries amongst those who are in dire need so that they can safely stay at home. We have already distributed 100 bags of dry groceries, which can feed 4 to 5 persons family upto 15 days. Each bag contains 10kg flour, 2kg rice, 2kg sugar, 3 litre of cooking oil, 3 to 4 types of lentins, 1kg tea and regular spices used for cooking. This one grocery pack cost us around $25.
We are preparing for the second drill in this pandemic situation. This time along with the dry groceries for underprivileged brothers and sisters, we are planning to distribute/donate medical supplies such as masks, gloves and sanitization products in the hospitals who are facing extreme shortages. Their medical staff is prone to this desease but due to the unavailability of these supplies risking their lifes to protect and facilitate other people.
Let’s turn into one big family and help each other in this pandemic and be a support for those in need. Donate as much as you can remember just $25 dollars can fulfil the food requirement of 4 underpriviliged brothers and sisters upto 15 days. May God bless us all and keep our loved ones safe. Lets join the hands together!
